12 The Richest Man Who Ever Lived…The Swarm Factor…Use It!

 #12 in Series of 30

Effective teamwork is all about making a good, well-balanced salad; not whipping individuals into a single batch of V-8.”      Sandra Richardson, OD Consultant

Before we Network Marketing Consultants brand ourselves as independent thinkers, as leaders, as those who march out front with our guns ready and firing…before we declare we’re losing our “employee mindset” we must check our “Lone Ranger” status.

We do well to remember The Swarm Factor incorporated in messages by people such as:

Henry Ford:   “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.”

Helen Keller:     “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”

Bill Bethel:     “A successful team is a group of many hands but of one mind.”

Napolean Hill:    “ It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed.”

Vince Lombardi:     “Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.”

Even the lowly locust, an insect in the grasshopper family, understands this success principle. They know how to create a massive launch. They move forward together. They create The Swarm Factor!

In her novel On the Banks of Plum Creek, Laura Ingalls Wilder writes of a “glittering cloud” of locusts so large it blocked out the sun as it approached. The swarm descended upon her family’s farm near Walnut Grove, Minnesota, destroying a month’s wheat crop and stripping the prairie bare of all vegetation.

We’re not out to destroy! Nevertheless, The Swarm Factor: The principle of Moving Forward Together is one we cannot ignore. Network Marketing Success mentors understand this!

Practically speaking, how do we entrprenurial thinkers put this into action? Check yourself and your current company with…

3 Swarm Factor Principles: We’ve been involved in several Network Marketing Companies. Sadly we did not always follow the advice of our mentors. Here are some tough lessons we learned:

1. The Team is perhaps more important than the product! Choose a Network Marketing Opportunity that has a phenomenal group of amazing people; positive, forward moving thinkers who want to help you and your downline as well. You need more than just a friend or two. As a wise philosopher once declared: “A 3 legged table will not stand.” You need an over-the-top team of folks, each with a unique brand and contribution willing to move forward with you. Without this you’re on your own, and it’s a lonely highway.

2. Choose a Company of Integrity. And… be a Consultant of Character. One who offers a win-win to both consumers and fellow consultants. People pick up on a lack of quality and character. As one lady commented on a recent blog post: People don’t follow brands on Twitter and Facebook so they can be spammed with cookie-cutter PR and marketing messages. They want special deals created for them as valued social media followers.” If you don’t value your customers; or If you’re not 100% psyched about your product and/or company, people will pick up on this. Why waste your hard work?

 3. Systems in Place. Why spend all of your time creating marketing materials, or customized training programs. Choose a strong, time-tested business model with outstanding training materials and lead systems in place. Oh, if we had learned this earlier, we could have visited Success much sooner!

You don’t have to lose your special uniqueness and “entrepreneurial” mindset when you incorporate the Swarm Factor! You can still focus on your unique strength’s and team contribution.

If you step out of the Swarm, however, you must keep in mind…It’s been said it takes ten years to create an overnight success! Most of our pockets are not that deep. The Swarm Factor will bring success to your table while the food is still warm.  Remember…You are in business for yourself; the key is not to be by yourself.

Inspired by The Richest Man That Ever Lived:  The author of Proverbs: King Solomon… “The locusts have no king, yet they all advance in rank.” Prov. 30:27 (NKJ)
